Will Eardley holds several senior positions

of responsibility within United Kingdom Orthopaedic Trauma :

  • Vice-Chair British Orthopaedic Association Trauma Committee

  • Orthopaedic Clinical Lead, National Hip Fracture Database

  • Trauma Audit Research Network Audit Committee

  • Vice-Chair Royal College of Surgeon's of Edinburgh Orthopaedic Surgical Speciality Board

Working regularly alongside other experts in his field means that Will is well placed to look after patients that have been injured or suffered infections that affect their bones and skin, either as a result of trauma or through other illnesses.

Whilst many injured patients recover really well, some do not and it is this group of patients that Will particularly offers expert advice and treatment for.

Bones that are slow to heal, bones that refuse to heal and fractures complicated by skin problems and infection are all dealt with. The Complex Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Clinic run by Will and Mr David Ferguson at the James Cook University Hospital deal with all of these issues. The surgeons are only one part of this service however and they are supported by specialist trauma coordinators, limb reconstruction nurses and specialist physiotherapists.

Will works closely with colleagues in plastic surgery and there is an orthoplastic team meeting held every two weeks to discuss key cases.
